ET D’AUTRES FOIS

It was once and other times of the cotton fields in the Mississippi and elsewhere, of the shipwrecked men at sea and on ground, of the feet and the bound fists, the prisoners and the escaped prisoners, the hopes of freedoms here but also over there.
There is also the memory of the ones and others in order not to forget.
Since its origin humanity reveals us its failures and its discordances. The seclusion, freedom, the indifference, the lapse of memory, the misery and well of others are part of its history unfortunately. Despite everything it dreamed of freedom and unit.

It is while visiting the museum and when considering its last function of prison that the subject of this exhibit became a must. The architecture of the place aloows me a particular installation in each cell …
By joining together recent and old works, I approach in an allegorical way these various topics: ideas of freedoms, escapes, oppressions, tenders and also of hopes.

Installations, video, painting and drawings often tell a little part of humanity in perdition.
